Diablo Challenge II, July 31st, 2004
The second installment of the Diablo Challenge was
played on July 31st. 14 teams braved the heat and
humidity to test their skills. After a lengthy break due
to poor scheduling on Larry's part. Teams returned to
field ready for round 2. Several new teams showed up.
All in all, everything ran very smoothly. Some new
things that we tried at this event were all the pics put
online rather than a select few. Also there was video taken, and that video was viewed at the store on Friday night August 6th. The Top team for the day was Snapshot Kids, followed closely by Kaos Kids in 2nd, with DC Freakshow in 3rd, and Team IDK in 4th. The Computing Edge Move of the Day was awarded to Robbie Bendig. Many THANKS to the field staff and referees for an outstanding job. Gear up gang, September 18th will be here before you know it.
CFOA @ Adventure Beach Paintball in N. Myrtle Beach, SC
The CFOA played it's 6th event of the season in
hot and happening N. Myrtle Beach, SC. CPP
teams were in attendance as usual. Most of the
guys went early or stayed after the event to get a
little Rest -n- Relaxation. With all of the extra stuff to do there was still a tournament to be played. Friday started the event with the CFOA TopGun competition. Marty Hall Jr. and Leslie Godshall represented CPP in the competition. Both played well, but fell short of being Top Gun. Also on Friday the long-awaited CFOA dvd from Derder was premiered in the Adventure Beach Proshop. The dvd was ruled an instant success and was sold out on the premises. Finally when it came time to play on Saturday, the weather was HOT as was the competition. Snapshot suffered through their toughest outting of the season. Finishing 3 - 3 for the event, they currently sit in 9th place overall in the Rookie Division. Kid Kaos now augmented by a couple of former Defy players also finished 3 - 3 on the day. They currently hold down 22nd position in the Division. Gang Related came into this event as the top team in the Novice Div. The bullseye that comes with being on top finally caught up to the guys at the beach. They had a tough day, and currently hold down 3rd in the season standings. Infinity played pretty well, but 4 - 2 was just not enough to send them to the semis. They currently stand 9th overall in the Amateur standings. Runnin' Wild had a good event finishing 5th. They currently stand tied for 5th in the CFOA Amateur Div.
